4 December 1846 — Father Jean-Louis Rocher to Mrs Guérin (widow) & Sons, Lyon (bankers), Sydney

Translated by Peter McConnell, September 2010

Sydney, November 1846
Madam,
[1]
I have the honour of informing you that in order to pay the expenses occurred in the service of the mission station of Bishop Bataillon, I have this very day sent to Messrs Joubert and Murphy of this city a draft of 320 pounds sterling thirty days after sight to your firm. The very Reverend Father Colin, superior of the Marist Society, has been asked to put at your disposal the necessary funds to cover this draft.
[2]
Do contact him in all matters for payment on demand!
Please accept my very sincere salutations
Your very humble
and quite devoted servant
Rocher
Missionary priest.
