Br. ATTALE (Jean-Baptiste) GRIMAUD, aged 30 (on arrival in New Zealand in Group III on 9 Dec Jun 1839).


In a week of his arrival he left the Bay of Islands with Fr Chevron for Futuna where they landed on 16 May 1840. When Pompallier was returning to the Bay of Islands on the Sancta Maria in mid-1842, he left Attale (with Chevron) on 2 July at Pea on Tongatapu. He died there on 7 August 1847, aged almost 37.
