Br Déodat aged 25 (on arrival in New Zealand in Group VI in 1842)

He remained at Kororareka until July 1842 when he went to Auckland to accompany Fr. Borjon to Wellington. The Speculator foundered after leaving Mercury Bay on 12 August, and Déodat was presumed to have drowned, aged 26, after four months on the New Zealand mission.
