- I, the undersigned Jean Baptiste François Pompallier, voluntarily and freely appoint the member of the Society of Mary, in Lyon, France, as it pleases Mr. Colin, Superior General of the said Society, or in case of absence or death, the current Superior General who would replace him, to be endowed with all my powers relating to the management of my private family properties and interests.
