To Father Superior

Nothing in particular

Very R[everend] F[ather]

If time allowed me I would have a lot of things to tell you, but the ship is making sail. After the difficulties I have had with Very Reverend Father Tripe, I would not be surprised if you had some [illegible word] about my salvation and about my vocation. I can assure you that I have no [movéses? - bad?] intention and that in spite of all the bad treatment I have received from R[everend] F[ather] Tryp [sic], I am ready to persevere to the end of my life in doing my duty and save my soul, whatever it costs me.

Please believe me.
Your totally devoted son
Florentin
