(Cf introduction to Doc 195)
Translated by Fr Brian Quin SM, October 2015
- [Address]
- Father Colin, Superior-General of the Marists, in Lyons
- Bay of Islands, 4 November1842
- Reverend Father,
- [1]
- Today I am giving a second draft, in triplicate, to Mr Ewen McLennan, as a final settlement with this house. It amounts to one thousand four hundred and seventy-four francs, twenty centimes. This payment must still be made from the allocations of 1841 and 1842. Father Épalle, who will have arrived a long time before this message, will already have informed you of the arrangements which should give more safety and speed to the annual dispatch of the allocations from the work of the Propagation of the Faith.
- [2]
- I have the honour to be, with respect and gratitude,
- Reverend Father,
- Your most humble and obedient servant,
- + J B F Pompallier, Bishop, Vicar-Apostolic of Western Oceania
- Your most humble and obedient servant,
- Reverend Father,
