10 November 1839 — Summary of a letter from Victor Poupinel to Emile Franque

According to EG, no. 7. Edited in CS1 doc. 98.

[margin note]
to Mr. Emile Franque, maritime broker in Le Havre

7.— Lyon, November 10, 1839.

This letter provided Mr. Emile Franque with the names of our missionaries and each of their residences so that he could recommend them to the captains of whaling ships. It also asked him to inform about favourable opportunities to send missionaries or letters and, finally, to use his influence with the merchants of Le Havre to appoint a consul in New Zealand.
Signed: Poupinel, secretary.
