- I am here on a mission journey, having been delayed at the Bay of Islands much longer than I had been able to foresee. All my funds have been used up; our mission schooner has no longer enough supplies for a very urgent journey I have to make. The only way I have of buying any is on credit from M Ferdinand Pennors, ship’s steward for the corvette L’Aube, who is happy to receive the draft which I am sending you in duplicate, and which is for four hundred francs dated today. I strongly urge you to honour it; you will oblige
