I am an anthropologist who worked in the Niua islands of Tonga in the 1960s and 1970s, and am a founding member of the Tonga Research Association. I have some copies of Father Jouny's writings on Niuafo`ou, obtained from Rome in the 1970s in faint photocopies, and I am keen to find more of his records. (The archivist stopped photocopying because the ink was too faint to reproduce, but modern technology will possibly have resolved this problem.)

I am accessing the website for the purposes of historical research on the Niua islands (Niuafo`ou, Niuatoputapu, Tafahi) and their connections with Wallis and Futuna. I may possibly be able to contribute to the project by providing annotations.
